*DATASET-NAME: Meteo and tide gauge data in the Sicily Channel (SOMME Project: 1991)

*TIME-PERIOD: From Jannuary to June 1991.

*GEOGRAPHIC-COVERAGE: 3 tide gauge stations (Scilla, Lastem, Reggio Calabria) and 3 meteorological stations (Palmi, Punta Faro, Seatex) on the Calabrian Coast.

*PROJECT: SOMME, on behalf of Snamprogetti S.p.A.

*PARAMETERS: Sea level; atmospheric pressure, air temperature, sea temperature, wind speed and direction, wind gust.

*INSTRUMENTS: SEADATA, LASTEM and SEATEX.

*SUMMARY: The data were collected in the framework of an environmental study in the Sicily Channel.
The experimental activity is based on 7 current meter moorings, 3 tide gauge stations and 3 meteorological stations.
sea level data were collected using SEADATA and LASTEM sensors. The data were sampled at at one-hour interval. The complete set consists of 33.623 recordings of sea level and 7.445 recordings of meteo data.
