*DESCRIPTION: Institute operates in the field of physical and chemical oceanography. The main activities and research work are in air-sea interaction, theoretical problems in fluid dynamics, meteorology, tidal studies, dissolved gases, nutrients, biogeochemical cycles, and anoxic basin.
Particular studies in the field of chemical oceanography were carried out in the Adriatic Sea, Ionian Sea, Eastern Mediterranean, Messina and Otranto straits, Ross Sea (Antarctica), Barents Sea, and in the Strait of Magellan.
The data collected in the frame of scientific programmes can be exchanged on bilateral basis, or by special arrangement with the scientists involved in the single researches.
