MTP II - MATER

Data Circulation and Timing

The Osservatorio Geofisico Sperimentale (Trieste, Italy) has to archive and distribute the data and the meta-data collected within the MATER project in the Adriatic Sea, in the Ionian Basin and in the Sicily Strait.
Therefore, to facilitate the data circulation, all scientific teams has to send the complete documentation (meta-data) and the data collected, with the following time schedule:

• Before the cruise: have to be sent to OGS
  • the ship schedule in order to be widely disseminated, and to prepare the archiving

• A month after the cruise: have to be sent to OGS
  • a copy of the cruise summary report (ROSCOP form)
  • a copy of the mooring summary reports
  • the main instrument description and the list of observed parameters

• Within six month after the field experiment: for each data set have to be sent to OGS
  • the data sets corrected from instrumental errors
  • a data report including documentation on the data collection, processing and validation

How to get the empty forms

All the empty forms, that have to be completed by the chief scientist or by the person in charge of laboratory analyses, are available on the anonymous ftp as Word 6.0 documents.
