Technical Description : The chain was equipped with four calibrated Aanderaa current meters RCM7, two EG&G acoustic releases, Argos transmitter, syntactic material, buoys and Kevlar cables. Further two current meter at depth 50 and 100 m were added at the chain during the second cruise. The Argos transmitter was mounted at the top of the chain. Since this instrument starts to transmit its position as soon as it reaches the surface, its use allows to control that the chain is not accidentally removed by fischermen.
