National Centre for Marine Research (NCMR)
The National Centre for Marine Research (NCMR) is a governmental research
institution. It belongs to the General Secretariat of Research and Technology
and, apart from the basic research in all fields of the aquatic environment,
provides comprehensive services and tecnological support to the public, on all
aspects of the marine and freshwater environments.
The Centre owns the research vessel
"AEGAEO"
that was launched in 1985. She
is 52m long and within her, navigational and scientific equipment are
constantly improved. The fully air-conditioned accommodation, houses a total
18 scientists in addition to the 22 officers and crew. She operates under the
Greek flag.
